When it comes to animal rights and being vegan some people get very defensive. They are afraid of facing the truth, which deep in their hearts many know already. Vegans challenge everything they know and take for granted. Our message forces them to think about things, they rather not know and think about. I know, because I was one of them.
The Vegan message is like the invisible feral cat, that you rather not see because when you do, you see it's limping, starving and desperate. It hurts your heart and you want to help. People are afraid that they won't be able to handle changing their lives drastically. So they lash out and cover up their fear with aggression toward Vegans and our message. I know because that is what I used to do.
I hope that behind all the anti vegan bravado secretly lies a conscience and people will change once they been exposed to the truth, again and again and again. Like a steady drop of water over time, carves a hole even in to a stone. I hold on to that, because it worked on me. ~Ginette
So shall we come to look at the world with new eyes. It shall answer the endless inquiry of the intellect, — What is truth? and of the affections, — What is good? by yielding itself passive to the educated Will. ... Build, therefore, your own world. As fast as you conform your life to the pure idea in your mind, that will unfold its great proportions. A correspondent revolution in things will attend the influx of the spirit. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
